Postseason

  • UK has played in a school-record SEVEN straight NCAA tournaments which included three Elite Eight finishes.
  • In 2010, 2012 and 2013, UK advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight, its highest finish since the field expanded to 64 teams in 1994.
  • Kentucky is one of just seven schools to make it to the Sweet 16 in at least five of the last seven seasons, joining Baylor, UConn, Duke, Notre Dame, Stanford and Tennessee.
  • In 2014-15, Kentucky was the only program in the country to have both its men’s and women’s programs receive top-two bids in the NCAA Tournament. UK’s men’s team was the overall No. 1 seed, while the women received a No. 2 seed.
  • UK has 19 postseason tournament appearances in its history, including a school-record 12 in a row: 1978, 1982, 1983, 1986, 1990, 1991, 1999, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016.
  • Kentucky has played host to the First and Second Rounds of the NCAA Tournament in Memorial Coliseum three straight seasons. Last year, UK was selected for the NCAA Lexington Regional and played all three postseason games in Lexington, Ky.
